My car is seriously damaged from water and hitting a puddle. So my insurance hooked me up with $50 a day rental. I was supposed to get a Luxury car, but ended up getting a Camaro convertible ...in Florida.

It is a rag top, the rear window is like a tank slit, and it seems very cramped inside. It took me a minute to figure out that I have to twist the air vent to lower the fan speed and the other air vent to raise the Temp from LOW at FULL BLAST that blew my hair around.

I should find out on my car Monday or Tuesday...sigh...till then cranking this V6 automatic.

Yikes, you’d have been better off with a base Accent. You can kind of see and the AC is dope!

Right...cept I have convertible for the first time ever. If it ever stops raining I am totally abusing that.

Can it get sideways?

Dumb question, of course it can.

How easy is it to get sideways?

Well, the traction control button is right where my right arm rests...so it’d be pretty simple to click that randomly. But it seems tight on control, but the thing is a big heavy car...it has some body roll to it on turns.

Will it burnout? I have evidence that rental spec ecoboost Mustangs and Camaro SS’s will but haven’t tried a V6.

I am pretty sure it will. It has the power for it.

Actually, the convertible (with the top down) is the best visibility that gen has ever had.

E njoy the stupid window controls and the weird electronic parking brake . I found the rental I had to be much better when I made sure it was in Sport mode.

Just remember that you have to hold the button for a ridiculously long time, like your finger starts cramping long while you wait for the top to slowly make its way down or back up.

I’m curious, what’s your honest opinion of the car? You’ve presumably had it for a few days now, how livable is it?  I’m really thinking about getting an SS/1LE.

The car has alot of body roll to it. It is quick, in a sense. There is alot of room in the cabin, but the features inside are a bit lacking. I don’t need much, but trying to figure out some of the buttons was annoying.

The HUD was decent in the dials. I wasn’t used to parking this thing as it really seems huge compared to my E92 M3. So I always sucked at parking.

It is impossible to see blind spots. Impossible. But, because it is like a tank slit, I found myself driving once without sunglasses during the Florida day because everything was covered. It was odd.

I’ve heard the visbility issues are probably the worst part of the Camaro. I briefly drove a 4 cylinder turbo one and honestly don’t remember much about it, bad or good.

As I mentioned in your other post, if I had a bit more money I’d be really considering a GT350, but at my price point it would be between Camaro and Mustang and I’ve wanted a Camaro since I was a kid so I think it would get the not . T he other problem is that the next best Camaro over the SS/1LE, the ZL1, is a further 10k price jump over a GT350.

Tough choices, but the tank slits of the Camaro really are bad. I hate it so much. If you get a good deal, I am sure you will make do!
